Key information

Consultation Fees

Self Funding Patients

If you are paying for your care yourself the current outpatient consultation fees are approximately:

Please note that there are additional fees charged by the surgeon for necessary diagnostic examinations and procedures performed in clinic, e.g.

– flexible or rigid endoscopic examination of the nose and/or throat (additional £125)
– ear microsuction (additional £100)
– nasal cauterisation (additional £100)

In-clinic treatments may also be arranged e.g grommet insertion under local anaesthetic (£350 incl. consultation fee) or intra-tympanic steroid injection (£350 incl. consultation fee).

Separate fees are charged by the private hospital for the procedures (above) that you undergo during your consultation. These fees are set by the hospital and you will be charged for both the hospital fee and separately the surgeons fee (for the procedure and the consultation) immediately following your consultation (by debit/credit card).

We aim to be completely transparent about the cost of care, and you will be informed in advance if any chargeable procedures are recommended. This will be explained at the time of booking via our private secretaries. If you have any questions about fees, please contact us and a full quote will be provided and explained.

Insured Patients

Both Mrs Lambert and Mr Tan are recognised providers and fee-assured for the major Health Insurance companies.

If you are insured, please check in advance of your consultation that you are covered for the consultation and the possible associated examination procedures e.g nasal endoscopy/microsuction. Please provide us with your insurance policy details and pre-authorisation number. We will invoice your insurer directly, minus any excess which you may be required to pay.

Surgical Procedures

Self-Pay Patients

The Duchy Hospital will provide an inclusive-care package fee to you in advance of you confirming you would like to proceed with any recommended surgery. This quote will cover all the costs of the operation including pre-operative appointments required for anaesthetic review, surgeon and anaesthetist fee, your hospital bed for the duration of your stay, surgical, nursing and anaesthetic staffing and hospital costs. You will be asked to pay for any procedures in advance. If you have any questions about any aspect of this quote you are welcome to contact us or the Duchy Hospital for clarification.

Insured Patients

If it is recommended following your consultation/relevant tests that you will require an operation, you will need to confirm that this is covered by your insurance policy, and provide further authorisation confirmation to us prior to confirming your operation date. Your insurance company will advise you if there is an excess that you may be required to pay.
