Septoplasty and Turbinate Reduction
A septoplasty is an operation performed under general anaesthetic to help with symptoms of a blocked nose. It involves straightening the cartilage and bony wall that separates the left and right sides of the nasal cavity. The operation is typically performed in conjunction with a turbinate reduction, where the volume of the turbinate is reduced to make more space inside the nose. The recovery period following surgery is typically up to 2 weeks and we would advise you to avoid strenuous exercise, although gentle walks are encouraged.
